AUBURN – Three senior members of the Civil Air Patrol’s Lewiston/Auburn Squadron, including squadron commander Scott Higgins, received promotions recently.

Higgins received the rank of lieutenant colonel in recognition of long years of service and of his level of expertise and leadership.

Also promoted were senior members Fredrick Schwab to major and Shane Henning to first lieutenant.

Civil Air Patrol senior members are promoted based on practical training and experience. Schwab received additional qualification for his long-time service with the Navy, having retired with the rank of lieutenant commander.
