Coast Guard Seaman Timothy M. Pinette, son of Winona Landry of Lewiston and David M. Pinette of Monmouth, and Coast Guard Seaman Apprentice Brent W. Blackwood, son of William G. Blackwood of Lewiston, recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N. J.

During the eight-week training program, they completed a training curriculum consisting of academics and practical instruction on water safety and survival, military customs and courtesies, seamanship skills, first aid, firefighting and marksmanship. A major emphasis was placed on physical fitness, health and wellness.

Pinette is a 2004 graduate of Monmouth Academy.

Blackwood is a 2005 graduate of Lewiston High School.

Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Belinda L. Hodgdon, daughter of Linia R. Marston of Auburn and Blaine D. Hodgdon of Lewiston, recently was promoted to her current rank while serving with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan.

Hodgdon was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in her designated specialty.

She is a 1995 graduate of Edward Little High School of Auburn and joined the Marine Corps in June 1997.

Marine Corps Cpl. Dylan A. Theberge, son of Patricia S. Ray and Daniel E. Theberge of Auburn, recently reported for duty with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13, Marine Air Group 13, 3rd Marine Air Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Ariz. Theberge joined the Marine Corps in April 2003.
