PARIS – People with diabetes will have a chance to learn how to prepare good-tasting, healthy foods at the new series offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, “Diabetes: Eating Matters.”

It is a three-part workshop series on providing meals for the person with or at risk for type 2 diabetes.

The series will include selecting foods for the person with diabetes, preparing good-tasting, healthy foods and understanding portions. Participants will also have an opportunity to sample healthy foods at each session.

The series will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, Feb. 15, 22 and March 1 (snow date March 8), at the Extension Office, Olson Road.

Wendy Legg Pollock, Extension educator, will lead the sessions. The cost is $10 a person, with an additional $5 for another person from the same family. Scholarships are available.
