Dear Sun Spots: We are looking for women who’d love to strut their stuff! It’s a chance for a fun night, to gather with friends and sashay down the runway in fashions right off our racks.

Classy Lady Boutique and Mentoring Services is seeking local women of all sizes, shapes and ages to participate the second annual Spring Fashion Extravaganza, The L/A Collection show, being held Wednesday, March 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Central Maine Community College at 1250 Turner St., in Auburn.

During the last few years, Sun Spots has been invaluable to Classy Lady Boutique and Mentoring services in Lewiston. Your readership has provided our nonprofit organization with many items that were needed to open our store. We are very grateful for that help and hope you’ll help again.

Last year’s spring fashion show was a great success, both in ticket sales and publicity. Lots of women who attended had never visited the store, but did so after the fashion show when they saw the wonderful outfits that were modeled. All of the models were local volunteers and all the outfits, as well as accessories, came right off the racks at Classy Lady Boutique.

If anyone is interested in taking part in the fun-filled evening, please contact Jen Hogan at 784-5868 or Betsy Sibley at 784-4566.

Anyone interested in purchasing tickets can do so for $10 each at: Classy Lady Boutique, 165 Lisbon St., Lewiston; Sweet Pea Designs, 940 Lisbon St., Lewiston; The Clothes Horse, 336 Center St., Auburn; or visit us online at www.classylady.net.

There will be a mini-boutique set up for your shopping pleasure as well as light refreshments and Strike a Deal in Pricing games.

– Lynn Berube, Classy Lady Boutique, staffing committee chairman, No Town.

Answer: For those readers unfamiliar with Classy Lady, their mentoring program offers 1-on-1 training – to those returning to work and with limited means – in specific areas of business. From image consultation, goal setting, computer skills, money matters, resume writing, completing job applications, business communications, interview tips and techniques, professionalism in the workplace, networking to developing professional relationships and balancing work and family. Call the boutique at 786-0231 for more information. And ladies please note, while the gently used clothing is earmarked for women with limited means and those returning to work, clothing is available for anyone wishing to purchase it. Sun Spots has picked up several gently used items for a fraction of the cost: for instance, a three-piece silk suit which looks brand new costs $15. The entire ensemble would likely be more yhan $100 brand-new. And Sun Spots even missed the $5 sale! And speaking of sales, Berube says a monthly sale is held the last Saturday of the month and deals include $3 for blouses, shoes and hats; $5 for slacks, dresses, blazers and shirts; and $10 for suits. This month’s sale is Feb. 25. In addition, there are also “blow out” sales where you’re sure to get even better deals. Check out their Web site at www.classylady.net. Hours of operation are Wednesday noon to 3 p.m., Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dear Sun Spots: I hope that you or your readers can help me find ball ornament candle holders. They come in a box of three, No. 79849. They are ceramic ornaments with a festive metallic finish. They also have pads on the bases to protect table surfaces. I’ve looked everywhere for some but I can’t find any. – Rita B., Lewiston.
