AUGUSTA – A new service to streamline business licensing by providing real-time Internet chatting with experts in the Department of Economic and Community Development’s Business Answers program is now available online.

The live chat promises to aid businesses as they seek to navigate licensing requirements and learn more about available state resources. In addition to the live chat, prospective businesses are able to use an online business licensing assistant to determine what licenses they need and then print the forms. A pilot program to allow some businesses to fill out the forms online is currently being considered by the department.

Businesses and prospective business owners can go to www.maine.gov/businessanswers to access these two online services.
