Blessing of sleds

MEXICO – Mexico Trailblazers snowmobile club and Poodunck snowmobile club of Dixfield will present the ninth annual Blessing of the Sleds from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Mountain Valley Middle School, off ITS 82.

There will be live remote with Tom O. and Mr. Mike on WTOS. A Poker Run will be held with cash prizes, first place $100, second $50 and third $25, along with raffles and 50/50. Sweatshirts will be on sale.

Blessing of Sleds will take place at 1 p.m. There will be hamburgers, sausage, hot dogs, fries and beverages. For more information, call 364-2428 or 562-4690.

Sponsors needed

RUMFORD – Sponsorships are being sought for the fourth annual River Valley 10-Town Easter Egg Hunt. A $10 donation will sponsor an egg. A name will be read over the radio when clues are given. There will be 250 eggs hidden.

Make checks payable to River Valley Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt and mail it to 60 Lowell St., Rumford, ME 04276 or stop by the chamber office. The event is sponsored by the River Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Mexico Fire Dept.

Tax assistance

MEXICO – Help is available in preparing income tax form for people in the River Valley area through the AARP Tax Aid Program. Bill Hersey, local resident, is helping people with simple tax forms and problems. To set up an appointment, call him at 364-8660. The work will be done in the SCORE office of the Oxford Federal Credit Union.
