FARMINGTON – SAD 9 Adult and Community Education is offering watercolor art with Barbara Hathaway of Wilton, artist instructor. The classes will run eight sessions from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Monday, Feb. 27.
Hathaway will use materials and instruct in the Wilcox School of Painting technique. Experiments with texture and brush strokes will enhance the composition. Elements of sky, trees, rocks, water reflections, flowers and foliage will form a painting with vibrant washes.
Materials needed include watercolor paper, watercolor paint set, three brushes, palette and jar for water. Students can choose to paint landscapes, seascapes, still lifes, flowers or animals. Students can work at their own pace.
