PARIS – The Oxford Hills AARP is participating in a day trip on Friday, March 10, to the Portland Flower Show at the Portland Co. complex at 58 Fore St. near the waterfront. The cost is $37 a person, which includes the show ticket and the cost of the bus. Lunch is on their own at a restaurant to be determined.

The flower show is a showcase of displays, products, people and ideas. This year’s theme is “The Soul of Gardening.”

Dozens of vendors will be set up to display and sell a wide variety of gardening supplies and decorations and to answer gardening questions. Paul Tukey, the host of “People, Places and Plants,” the gardening show on HGTV, will speak on new advances in natural gardening.

This is the largest flower show in northern New England.

The bus will leave the old Ames parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and return late afternoon. Call Henrietta at 743-6722 to be put on the list and send the money to Walter Taft, 1024 Gore Rd., Otisfield, ME 04270 for a reservation.
