BETHEL – The 32nd annual Heritage Day was held Feb. 18 at Bethel Historical Society’s Regional History Center.
At the historic Dr. Moses Mason House (1813), homemade Indian pudding was served from the hearth of the winter kitchen during the museum tours offered during the afternoon.
Guides were Allan Marcotte and Amy Davis; Annie Hastings served the pudding; and Grace McKivergan, Allan Marcotte and Stan Howe baked the pudding.
Visitors toured the exhibits, “Molly Ockett and her World,” “Bethel: A Historic Town” and “Newry 200,” at the 1821 O’Neil Robinson House. Traditional craft demonstrations and exhibits were offered by Grace McKivergan of Rumford, knitting; Jane Peterson of Rumford, weaving; Robin Henne and Hildy Danforth, Shelburne, N.H., spinning.
Historical videos continued throughout the afternoon and a local history book fair table was available. Jean Owen volunteered in the museum shop, which offered several new items.
