FARMINGTON – The Community Concepts Transportation Department recently found a way to spread valentine cheer while raising money to support the Elder Rides Program. Elder Rides provides transportation for elderly individuals to medical appointments for treatments such as chemotherapy and kidney dialysis.

Kurt Reynolds, owner of Riverside Greenhouses, furnished carnations at cost and Community Concepts sold them for a little more, with the difference going into the Elder Rides fund.

“This was a terrific fundraiser,” said Star Barden of Community Concepts. “Through the generosity of Riverside Greenhouses, and those who purchased flowers, as well as many who donated extra money, we were able to raise $300.”

The Elder Rides Program serves senior citizens with a critical medical need and no means of transportation. All funding comes from private donations or Community Concepts fundraising efforts.
