AUBURN – The Lewiston Capitals and B&B Catering have captured regular season pennants in the L-A Senior Hockey League at Ingersoll Arena. Playoffs will begin this weekend.

The Capitals earned the Recreational Division pennant with a record of 12-6-2 for 26 points, 1 better than L/A Stars and Custom Metal Fab.

The Caterers claimed the Competitive Division regular season title with a record of 18-3-1 for 37 points, 7 more than second place Team Bud Light.

Playoffs in the Recreational Division will begin Friday night, as follows: 8 p.m., Lewiston Caps (1) vs L/A Stars (2); 9:15, Custom Metal Fab (3) vs Radio City (6); 10:30, Budget Document Technology (4) vs Play It Again Sports (5). Semi-finals (Winner 1 vs Winner 2, Loser 1 vs Winner 3) and a consolation game (Losers of 2-3) are set for March 10 at 8 p.m., with the championship tilt slated for Sunday, March 12 at 6 p.m.

Competitive Division playoffs will begin on Sunday, March 5, as follows: 6 p.m., B&B Catering (1) vs Team Bud Light (2); 7:15, DMD Barbaricks (3) vs River Ratts (6); 8:30, St. Laurent & Son (4) vs Swamp Donkeys (5). Action continues Tuesday, March 7 at 8:45 with the Winner of 1 vs Winner 2 in a semi-final contest. On Wednesday, March 8 at 7:30, Loser of 1 will meet the winner of 3 in the other semi-final game. Losers of games 2 and 3 will meet in a consolation contest at 8:45. Championship game is scheduled for Sunday, March 12 at 7:15 p.m.

Maranacook wins two

READFIELD – EJP went 2-1 in the Maranacook Mites Friendship Tournament.

Paul Martha notched a hat trick as EJP defeated Bangor White 6-1. Also lighting the lamp were Ryan Lutrzykowski, Tom Small and Cody Stockford. Drawing assists were Martha, Peter Prescott, David Marshall and Stockford (3). Kodi Legassie scored for Bangor. Jack Vickerson was the winning goalie.

Casco Bay Sharks knocked off EJP 9-1 as Mitchell Donovan popped in 5 goals. Other scorers were Galen Arnold, Brett Eubanks, Kyle Kramlich and William Schad. Credited with assists were Schad, Connor Whittum, Kramlich and Keegan Thomas. Lutrzykowski tallied the lone EJP goal, assisted by Prescott. Vickerson donned the pads.

EJP edged the Lewiston Junior Maineiacs 6-5 as Martha registered 3 more goals. Stockford added 2 and James Canwell the other. Assist-makers were Hunter Tims, Thayer Whitney, Vickerson and Stockford. Tom Small was in goal. Caleb Labrie collected a hat trick for Lewiston. Mariah Lemelin and Cody Woodward scored the other goals.
