Guest minister

NORWAY – Norway Unitarian Universalist worshipers will host the First Radio Parish minister, the Rev. Peter Panagore, at an 11 a.m. service Sunday, March 12, at the First Universalist Church, 479 Main St.

Panagore is seen on WCSH TV First Radio Parish morning devotions. He is the an ordained United Church of Christ minister.

Child care will be provided, and a coffee hour will take place in the the downstairs concert hall after the service. The choir, led by Heather Pierson, will practice at 9:30 a.m. For more information, contact the church office at 743-2828 or by e-mail at norwayuu@gwi.net.

AARP speaker

PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter, AARP, will meet at 1 p.m. Monday, March 13, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, South Paris. Lunch will be at noon and reservations are required by calling Henrietta at 743-6722 by noon Friday, March 10. Menu is stuffed pork chops, mashed potato, carrots and dessert for $6.50. Barbara Hall wil talk about hospice and the new Hospice House in Auburn.

Heywood Club

NORWAY – The Heywood Club of Norway will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 13, at the Western Maine University and Community College Center. A tour of the facilities will be conducted by the directors. Members are encouraged to bring a friend or neighbor. To arrange for a ride, call 743-2570.

Bottle drive

OXFORD – Oxford SACC will hold its annual bottle drive during March to raise money for a matching grant from the Good Shepherd Food Bank. For every $1 the agency raises, Good Shepherd will credit its account for $2.

Oxford SACC is a licensed nonprofit school-age childcare program located in the annex building next to the Oxford Elementary School. It accepts children as young as age 4 up to sixth grade.

In order to serve a nutritious breakfast and afternoon snack and to keep costs low, the agency holds occasional fundraising projects.

Those wishing can bring bottles and cans to the agency or to the Mobile Redemption Services beside Polly’s Variety.

Thursday supper

WATERFORD – The Wilkins House Community supper will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at the house, Plummer Hill Road. Hosts will be Caren and James Long.
