AUBURN – Rec-Ing Crew took over sole possession of second place in the Auburn Rec Women’s Slowdown Basketball League with a 34-31 victory over Independent Women in recent action. Jessica Veilleux led the Crew with a dozen points. Lynn Whitney added 8. Jessica Day (11) and Stacey Croft (6) paced the losers.

Hoop Camp fell out of second place by dropping a 33-27 decision to first place SOCHS. Dawn Gilbert tossed in 13 for the winners. Tammy Thibeault added 8. Tracey Scott netted 13 for the Campers. Katie Morin was next with 8.

Lady Ballers edged Old School 34-30 as Jen Small collected 12 points. Betsy Sibley led Old School with 11. Kim Bernard was right behind with 10.

Tonight, Independent Women takes on Young Ones at 7:00, followed by Lady Ballers vs SOCHS. Sunday at 4:00, Old School meets Rec-Ing Crew.
