CASCO – A seasonal cottage was destroyed by a fire on Wednesday at Point Sebago Resort and the exterior of a nearby cottage was damaged by the flames, Casco Fire Chief John Small said.
There were no injuries. No one was in the cottages at the time of the fire, Small said.
Point Sebago Resort is a family vacation center on Sebago Lake in Casco. Small said the cottages were off Route 302 on Point Sebago Road.
The cottages were insured. Firefighters from Casco, Naples, Raymond and Otisfield responded to the fire, which took about a half-hour to extinguish, Small said.
Small said the fire is being investigated but didn’t appear to be suspicious. He estimated damage to the destroyed cottage at between $30,000 and $50,000.
