9 injured after car ferry crashes
SOUTHAMPTON, England (AP) – A car ferry collided Friday with a dockside ramp in this coastal city, injuring nine people, the coast guard said.
The Red Funnel car ferry, making the 10-mile journey from Cowes on the Isle of Wight to the southern English city of Southampton, hit the ramp while docking about 4:40 p.m.
The Maritime and Coast Guard Agency said nine people were injured. Red Funnel said eight passengers and one crew member suffered minor injuries.
The ferry was carrying 130 passengers and 14 crew members, Red Funnel said.
