LEWISTON – Post 22, American Legion, has named Joseph Paradis, longtime member, as chairman of the Thursday, March 16, meeting night program, which will note the birthday of the American Legion.

Diane Green, representative of the state veterans home in Augusta, will be the speaker at the session to be held at the former AL home, 190 Bates St. A question-and-answer period will follow.

Election of new officers will take place, and members will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The Memorial Day parade will also be discussed. Time and start-up point will be made public at a later date.

A social hour, with a buffet lunch, will be held at 5:30 p.m. A donation of $5 a person will be taken at the door. A surprise door prize will be raffled.

Also on the Planning Committee are Doris Hamel, first vice commander; Donald Dube, trustee; Jerry DerBoghosian, adjutant; and Bert Mathieu, music chairman.

Paradis, post trustee, said veterans will be able to pay their yearly dues of $23 at the meeting. Veterans who want to have their name engraved on a stone in the new Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street will be able to do so. Cost is $30 a name; bring separation papers D form 214.
