JAY – “Treasure Island” will make its Jay debut on the Middle School cafeteria stage for the student body on Thursday morning, March 30. A show at 7 p.m. that night will be performed for family and friends.
The collaborative effort has been in the works as part of the after-school drama program of Jay Middle School since December, and the cast of dozens is working together to make the musical “Treasure Island” a reality.
Under the direction of Catherine Whitmore and Patty Schoen, the production will feature fifth-, sixth- and seventh-grade actors and actresses from Jay Middle School. Tunes will be sung by both school choruses, directed by Katy Cloutier, and members from Dianne Fenlason’s world drumming class will add percussion to several numbers.
Sets have been created under the direction of students Kayla Maurais, Kyle Lewis and Megan Buckingham.
