JAY – Operation Uplink has benefited from the Valentine Dinner and Dance held at the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 on Feb. 11.

The post Auxiliary, which sponsored the event, has mailed a check for $1,100 to national headquarters.

A prime rib meal was prepared by Auxiliary members Janice Sweeney and Karol Frey. A dance, with music by Alibi, followed. The amount raised was $1,059.97; however at the monthly meeting, the Auxiliary voted to raise it to $1,100.

Those would like to make a donation should send a check made out to VFW Post 3335 Ladies Auxiliary and mail to VFW Post 3335 Ladies Auxiliary, 64 Jewell St., Jay, ME 04239, and note that the donation is for Operation Uplink.

Operation Uplink keeps active-duty military personnel and hospitalized veterans in touch with their families and loved ones by providing them with free phone cards.
