The Philip W. Sugg Middle School Civil Rights Team did a demonstration for the seventh grade students. The Team explained the definition of discrimination, and the purpose of the “paper clip” example. Member of the Team liked all papers clips to show “if we all work together there will be a chain of success. But, if you bend or twist a paper clip, (or discriminate against other people) the chain of success and working together will be broken. If the paper clip falls apart, then we are not working together as we should be.”
