LEWISTON – Jonathan Damon, a junior at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., has returned from a semester abroad at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. While there, he studied computer science and the culture of the Maori people of New Zealand as well as traveling on the South Island.

At Trinity, Damon is a member of the rugby team and the alpine ski team. He is a 2003 graduate of Lewiston High School.

Laura Damon, a senior at the University of Maine in Farmington, is spending a semester in Ghana, West Africa, participating in a program called Arts and Culture, administered by the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vt.

An elementary education major with a strong interest in art education, her independent study project is writing a children’s book about Ghana to be used in multi-cultural education. She is a 2001 graduate of Gould Academy in Bethel.

Their parents are Marcia Baxter and Bruce Damon of Lewiston.
