n In June 1998, former Hanover Town Clerk Carrilee M. Pitcher admitted stealing $29,192 in town funds over a 2-year period. She was sentenced to a year in jail but the sentence was suspended. Pitcher repaid the money, was placed on probation and fined $1,500.
n In June 1998, former Greenwood Town Manager Elizabeth Lavalette admitted stealing more than $20,000 from the town to pay the Internal Revenue Service and a lawyer. She was sentenced to a year in prison and fined $5,000.
n In January 2003, former Norlands bookkeeper Armour L. Goodman of Dixfield admitted stealing more than $30,000 from the Livermore historical group. He was ordered to repay $33,853.71 to Norlands after serving a nine-month jail sentence.
n In February 2004, Viola M. Whitman of West Paris agreed to repay $30,000 to Tri-Town Ambulance after she was accused of embezzling $81,900 from the company the year before.
n In December 2004, former SAD 43 Athletic Director Timothy J. McInnis of Rumford admitted embezzling more than $86,000 from the district. He was ordered to repay $86,841.89 to the district and was sentenced to two years in prison. The sentence was suspended.
n In January 2006, former Moontide Water Festival President Matthew Plante of Rumford admitted stealing between $5,000 and $6,000 from the organization in 2004. Plante repaid $6,244 and was ordered to spend five days in jail.
