DIXFIELD – Residents will choose two selectmen and three SAD 21 directors when they go to the polls on June 13.
Nomination papers for the positions are available at the Dixfield town office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Those interested in running for one of the seats must gather the signatures of at least 25 Dixfield registered voters and turn the papers in by April 28.
Town Clerk Vickie Carrier said the selectmen seats up for election are those held by Eugene Skibitsky and Brenda Turbide. Skibitsky is the administrator for Western Maine Transportation. Turbide, who was elected last year to finish out the term begun by former Selectman Steve Donahue, is a member of the town’s Water Advisory Committee.
The three-year terms currently held by SAD 21 directors David Berry, Sonya Fuller and Leslie Skibitsky expire this year as well. The town of Dixfield holds a total of six seats on the school board.
Carrier said no one has yet taken out papers for either the selectmen’s or school board positions.
Voting takes place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the fire station.
