LEWISTON – Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District will publish a mapped directory of farm stands and farmers’ markets in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties early this summer.

The directory will list local producers who sell their food and non-food items at farm stands and farmers’ markets. The location of each participating producer or market will be identified on a map of the region, along with a brief description of product lines, hours of operation and contact information, if desired.

There is no cost for a listing, but one should call early to be included because there is limited space in the brochure. The brochure will be printed in full color on an 11 x 17 format, and copies will be available for each participant. There is also limited space available for advertisements.

Those who wish to have their farm stand appear on the map or need more information should call the district office at 753-9400, ext. 403. The deadline for a listing is April 26.

The project is being supported by a grant from the Maine Department of Agriculture and districts throughout the region.
