AUBURN – Central Maine Community College announces its fourth Small Business Institute. A free preview of the program is set from 9 to 11 a.m. April 4.

Participants may sign up for the entire series at a reduced rate of $99, or individually for $25 each.

The schedule is:

• Understanding Tax & Legal Structure, 9 a.m. to noon April 11, an overview of the various options for business structures and the tax implications;

• Managing Cash Flow, 9 a.m. to noon April 18, an overview of the fundamentals of cash management including accounting methods, financial statements, managing accounts receivables, and strategies for increasing cash flow;

• Effective Marketing Strategies, 9 a.m. to noon April 25, an exploration of various marketing strategies and options for low cost and no cost marketing;

• Financing Your Small Business, 9 a.m. to noon May 2, the basics including what your banker needs to know about you and your business, what funding options are available and how to choose the right funding source;

• Managing Your Small Business, 9 a.m. to noon May 9, using the 10 key attributes that a great leader must have; and

• Writing the Business Plan, 9 a.m. to noon May 16, the components and critical functions of a business plan and how to use your business plan to get the funding needed.
