LEWISTON – The Lewiston Maineiacs have announced an increase in ticket prices for the 2006-07 season – sort of.
Instead of offering just two options for people to purchase season tickets, there are now four, and current season ticket-holders will not see a jump in price.
Individual single-game adult tickets will be raised from $13 to $14.
Full-season tickets and flex packs, a block of 35 tickets patrons can exchange for tickets whenever they want, will remain. The cost for new members has risen by one dollar per game, from $420 to $455 for both options for adults, and accordingly for students, seniors and youth tickets.
The two new packages next season will include the Weekend Warrior package, which allows fans the option to purchase tickets to 20 of the team’s Friday, Saturday and Sunday games during the season, and offers those fans the chance to reserve their same seat for all of those games. Each adult Weekend Warrior ticket will cost $260. The final option is the Mini-Maineiac Pack. With this option, fans will choose 10 games and get the chance to reserve the same seat for each of those games.
An early-bird special will allow new members to enjoy the same rate as existing ticket-holders, if they pay in full by June 1. Also new in 2006-07 will be full access to the new Shipyard Lounge, formerly the Power Play Room, at the front end of the Colisee. Open to all season ticket-holders and flex-pack holders, the lounge will offer the game on a big screen, a full bar, pre-game meals and post-game appetizers as well as different promotional events throughout the year.

Jonathan Bernier was likely the last player out of the locker room after the Maineiacs’ Game 6 loss to Halifax. While some players were showered and on the way out, Bernier sat slouched over, still in his full goaltender’s gear, stunned.
“As a young goalie, you have to live with the highs and lows,” said Maineiacs head coach Clem Jodoin.
From one of the lows to an immediate high, Bernier left Tuesday night, along with teammate Stefan Chaput, for Sweden.
He and Chaput will join the Canadian National Under-18 team at the 2006 IIHF World Under-18 Championship in Angelholm and Halmstad, Sweden, from April 12-22.
