Choir cantata

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Community Choir will present the Easter cantata, “Cornerstone,” at the Dixfield Congregational Church at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 8, and the West Paris Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday. April 9.

The choir is composed of singers from several area churches and is directed by Mary Standard. Maurise Veatch is the accompanist.

The West Paris Baptist Church will hold its Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 16, a combined service at the North Paris Federated Church; 8 a.m., Easter breakfast at West Paris church; 8 a.m., Easter service, North Paris; 9:15 a.m., Easter service, West Paris. There will be no evening Easter service.

Union Church

GREENWOOD – Easter events at the Locke Mills Union Church are announced.

April 13, Maundy Thursday, service jointly at the Rumford Point Congregational Church at 7 p.m.

April 14, Good Friday, ecumenical service at the Bethel Methodist Church at 7 p.m.

April 16, Easter sunrise service at Locke Mills Union Church at 6 a.m.; Easter breakfast at Locke Mills Union Church from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. with menu of peach French toast, breakfast casserole, sausage, fruit, coffee and juice; Easter service at 9 a.m.

First Universalist

PARIS – The Palm Sunday service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, will be led by Art Judge. Judge is a member of King’s Chapel, Boston, and the New Massachusetts Universalist Convention.

The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist, and soloist will be Renee Wales. She will also direct the Sunday school. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Thursday, April 13, the Maundy Thursday Communion Service will be led by Shirley Miller. Everyone is welcome.

Sunday River

NEWRY – The Sunday River Christian Ministry Easter Mountaintop Sunrise Service will be held at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 16, at the top of Barker Mountain.

The interdenominational worship service will be led by the Rev. Don Coverdale; special music with gospel singer Cynthia Libby.

Lift 1 will open at 6:30 a.m. for free rides. No skis will be needed. There will be a collection for the food pantry this year. For more information, call 824-5896 (recording) or 824-3000 SR.
