MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – A New Hampshire soldier was killed in Iraq this week, WMUR-TV reported Wednesday.

George Roehl, who attended Franklin High School, was killed in an explosion. He was 21.

Roel’s mother said Army officials told her of his death Tuesday.

Roehl had been in Iraq for five months and was doing cavalry patrol. He was the oldest of five children.
