TURNER – The U.S. Achievement Academy has announced that Cody Violette of Greene has been named a national award winner in English. The academy recognizes fewer than 10 percent of all American high school students.

Violette, who attends Tripp Middle School, was nominated for the national award by Jodi Mathers. Violette will appear in the U.S. Achievement Academy’s official yearbook which is published nationally.

The academy selects winners upon the recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors and other sponsors and upon the standards of selection set forth by the academy. The criteria are a student’s academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, enthusiasm, motivation to learn and improve, citizenship, attitude and cooperative spirit, dependability and recommendation from a qualified sponsor.

Violette is the son of Marc and Marie Violette of Greene. His grandparents are Aline and Benny Violette of Lewiston and Tomiko and Maurice Levesque of Lisbon.
