PARIS – The Foster-Carroll Post 72, American Legion, Auxiliary treated the Legion members to birthday cake during a March 12 celebration of the national American Legion’s 87th birthday.

The auxiliary served roast beef, potatoes, green beans, coffee, ice cream and cake. Two department Legionnaires joined the group. The Supper Committee, led by Marilyn Ramsay, was composed of Beatrice Dammon, Lillian Herrick, Muriel Brine and M. Johnson.

The keynote speaker was Ron Sailor, who was introduced by post Commander Joe Lomonte. The purposes and accomplishments of the Legion were explained, after which Art Hill presented special membership certificates.

Auxiliary President Lillian Herrick and Lomonte cut the special cake honoring the American Legion birthday. The committee served the ice cream and cake before the business meetings were held.

On Saturday, April 22, there will be one more public chicken pie supper followed by a Chinese auction. The next regular supper and meeting date for the members will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 12. It will be potluck, and the second nomination and election of new officers will be held.
