Temple Terrace, Fla. – Maurice W. Cloutier, 73, of Valrico, Fla. and a longtime resident of Lewiston, died April 6, at the Melech Hospice House after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 19, 1932, the son of Fred and Nora (Pelletier) Cloutier. He attended Lewiston schools and was a graduate of St. Dominic’s High School, Class of 1951.

He was U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked for many years as a self-employed contractor prior to his retirement. He moved to Florida in 1993. He was a longtime member of Saints Peter and Paul Basilica. He loved golfing, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his son, Raymond Cloutier and his wife, Denise, of Lewiston; his daughter, Teresa Cloutier of Gray; and their mother, Irene Ratte of Auburn; his granddaughters, Becky Desmarais and her husband, Joel, of Westbrook, Nicole Canning and her husband, TJ, of Lewiston and Danielle Cloutier of Lewiston; his great-grandchildren, Austin and Taylor Canning; his brothers, George and Robert Cloutier of Lewiston and Richard Cloutier and his wife, Libby, of Tenn.
