Dear Sun Spots: I just moved to New Gloucester with my 2-year-old daughter and 9-month-old son. Can you suggest anywhere that has classes like dance, art, music, tumbling, etc., for toddlers or infants? Also, are there any local play groups, or would anyone like to start a play group? Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots spoke with Mike Maines who says you may want to contact their group, Happy Hands Play Group in Gray. The group is open to the public and meets each Wednesday in the New Begin Center basement, on Route 100 in Gray, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.. The cost is 50 cents per child and covers the cost of a snack. Parents or caregivers are to remain with their children over the duration of the session. Dear Sun Spots: People who say they have negative energy in a house, ghosts etc., need only to obtain holy water from a baptismal font in a Catholic church. Bless the house with it by sprinkling some water in every room including attic and cellar. If noises continue, they should consider infestation of mice or squirrels or bats and call the proper authorities to rid the house of them. Usually one can see their droppings. Poorly fitting windows and doors can cause drafts to occur. Walking across floors could be a heating system starting up. I’ve had similar experiences when I lived in an old sea captain’s mansion in Newburyport, Mass., I even heard knocking in the wall by the fireplace. It was a bird that had fallen in the chimney and could not get out since the fireplace was walled in. I went all over the house with holy water, too, and slept in peace after that. – Gabriella DeMoras, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: My brother asked if I could help him obtain some information. When he was born, he had a medical condition and was treated by a pediatrician by the name of Dr. Morrisette out of Lewiston. This was 40-plus years ago, and we don’t know the doctor’s first name. Where would one go to look for medical records from that long ago? Any advice would be much appreciated. – D.K. Norway.
