Grange future

LIVERMORE – New Norland Grange 580 will meet at the hall at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 22, to discuss the future of the Grange. All interested members are asked to attend to make their wishes known. There will be a program and refreshment. The baking contest for date squares will be held, and any man or woman may enter. Call 897-6946 for the recipe.

Concert Sunday

FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue High School Syncopations will present a 7 p.m. concert Sunday, April 23, in Nordica Auditorium, University of Maine at Farmington. The concert is free and the public is invited.

The concert will include the program from their recent London tour. The Syncopations is an auditioned women’s ensemble directed by Carol Shumway and accompanied by Patricia Hayden. Included in the performance will be several works accompanied by Graybert Beacham and Malina Dumas on violin and Karen Beacham on clarinet.

Church service

FARMINGTON – Pastor Susan Crane of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church invites the public to join the congregation for Sunday school at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 23. There will be classes for preschoolers, older children and adults. The message, “Seeing by Believing,” will be given during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

Women’s program

WILTON – The Western Mountain Women’s Connection will present a program for all women from 11:15 to 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at the Boiler Room, Main Street.

Classy Lady Boutique will show fashions for women re-entering the work force and guest speaker Robin Harnist of Roanoak, Va., will share “Peace in the Storms of Life.”

The cost for the meal is $12. Reservations may be made by calling Linda at 645-2412 or e-mailing cwcjayme@yahoo.com. Free child care is available but only with reservations.

College planning

JAY – A college planning information session for parents of junior students at Jay High School will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, in the high school library.

Information will include general college search information, college visitation, admissibility, financial aid and resources available. This program will be hosted by the Jay High School guidance department. For more information and/or questions, call the guidance office at 897-4336.
