Day of prayer
PARIS – Congress has declared the first Thursday in May to be the National Day of Prayer. Many churches are joining together with a public observance in the Oxford Hills.
All are invited to pray at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at the South Paris Baptist Church sanctuary.
Earlier that day, at noon, the official state observance will take place on the steps of the State House in Augusta.

Turn off TV
WEST PARIS – Next week, April 25 to 29, will be “TV Turnoff Week” at the Agnes L. Gray School. The students sign a “contract” to not watch TV and on Friday of that week, those who keep their pledge will receive prizes donated by the West Paris PTO.
There will be special activities evenings Tuesday through Friday as follows: community clean-up, outdoor games, stories, sing-alongs and Friday, April 28, a talent night at 6:30 p.m. at the school gym.
