SPC Eric Beal, a 2002 graduate of Mt. Abram High School in Salem and son of Rick and Elaine Beal of Mendon, Vt., formerly of Avon, has been recognized by his platoon at Fort Bliss, Texas.
Beal has been stationed at Fort Bliss Military Base since September 2002. He is a system maintainer for Charlie Battery 1-44 AMD. System maintenance is a crucial part of running a Patriot unit. In addition, Beal ensures that calibrations are conducted for monthly services.
Beal also ensures that millions of dollars of Patriot equipment essential to the mission of C Btry 1-44 AMD is operational and in a readiness condition for its wartime mission.
