DOVER, N.H. (AP) – A former Dover man faces at least 22 and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to repeatedly raping a young girl and photographing the acts.

Brett Sonia, 37, admitted assaulting the girl, a long-time acquaintance, numerous times between March and September 2003, when she was 13 and 14.

The prosecutor is recommending a sentence of 221/2 to 60 years in jail. Sonia’s lawyer agreed.

The case began in Los Angeles in 2003, after Sonia and the victim moved there from Dover. He’s already been sentenced to six years in prison in California for assaults that occurred in that state.
