OXFORD-Local singer-songwriter Kristen Short, along with partner Heather Pierson of Fryeburg, is performing an acoustical concert to benefit The Boxberry School at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6 in the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School’s forum. The two will be joined by local potter/percussionist Rusty Wiltjer.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children and are available at Books-‘n-Things on Main Street in Norway.

Kristin Short has been singing and writing songs for over 15 years and actually started by writing poetry in her childhood. Her debut album, Blossom in the Dust, was released in 1998, and she is currently working on her third. She s a dynamic performer of original music that traverses the musical genres of adult contemporary, country, folk, and blues. Kristen also is the music teacher at Boxberry.

Heather Pierson is a pianist, vocalist, percussionist, songwriter, and owner of the independent record label Vessel Recordings. She has been performing professionally for most of her life, and her music is dedicated to “peace, harmony, and respect.” She also is the music director for the Norway Universalist Church and organizes their monthly coffee house open mic nights and is a founding member of the Commons Music Collective based in Western Maine.
