PARIS – The Maine Veterans’ Home of South Paris will host a free informational presentation on the unique end-of-life care needs of combat veterans from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 9.
The program is part of the Hospice Veteran Partnership of Maine. The partnership was formed to improve end-of-life care services for veterans through the collaborative efforts of the Maine Veterans’ Homes, the Togus VA Medical Center and community-based hospice agencies such as Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
The May 9 program will feature a specially produced video, “Wounded Warrior,” and remarks from a panel of professionals involved in end-of-life care. Refreshments will be served.
Panelists will include Pat Daly, M.D., chair of the Togus VAMC Palliative Care Committee; Enoch Albert, Togus VAMC R.N.; Kandyce Powell, executive director of the Maine Hospice Council; Matthew Lessard, administrator, Maine Veterans’ Home of South Paris; and Andrea LeBlanc, R.N., chief operating officer of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
