AUBURN – Keller Williams Realty Mid Maine has announced that Barbara Trafton of Auburn joined the Center Street office as a sales agent specializing in downtown commercial properties and residential homes.

Trafton, a Maine native, has lived in Auburn for the more than 30 years.

Before joining Keller Williams, she was an English teacher, an aquatics director for the YWCA, a fundraiser for local and state nonprofits, and a Maine state senator. She has a bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College, an master’s in education from the University of Southern Maine, and a master’s in business administration from Northeastern University.

She has received awards for her volunteer efforts from organizations, including the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce, the Androscoggin United Way and the city of Auburn. In 2002, Trafton was named Auburn’s Citizen of the Year by the Auburn Business Association.

Trafton serves on the Advisory Board for the University of Maine at Augusta, the PTO of Webster Intermediate, and chairs the Garcelon Society for Bates College, which supports scholarships for local students. She also serves on the board of trustees for The Nature Conservancy’s Maine Chapter.

“I am eager to work with new and old friends who are interested in Maine properties. My focus will be on providing good advice and service and on working productively and creatively to address the real estate opportunities and challenges of my clients,” said Trafton.
