PARIS – Local members of the two largest worldwide service organizations, Rotary and Kiwanis, are seeking items for a summer auction. This year’s event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 7 and 8, under the “big tent” at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, South Paris.

Members of each club will contact businesses and individuals, requesting donated items to be auctioned. The flea market tables will be open Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday during the Kiwanis pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m.

New and barely used items such as furniture, sports equipment, canoes, boats, trailers, jewelry, crafts, collectibles and cars are being sought. Books and gift certificates for items or services will also be accepted. No used electronics, appliances, computer printers or clothes will be accepted.

Money raised will be split between Rotary and Kiwanis. Funds help services and youth projects in the area such as May Day Play Day, a bike rodeo, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Dollars for Scholars, Key Club, Interact Club and Builders Club.

Those wishing to donate may call Janice Davis at 744-0204 or Donna Martin at 743-7753 to arrange drop-off or pick-up. The weekend of May 6 will be the first of scheduled pick-up dates.
