YARMOUTH – Catcher Michael Carpenter registered the lone RBI on a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth as St. Dom’s squeaked past North Yarmouth Academy 1-0 on Monday.

Pat Bryant scored after reaching base when he was hit by a pitch. Andy Allen shut down the offense of the winless Panthers, scattering five hits and striking out six for his second win of the season (2-0).

Tom Gosselin hit a triple with two outs in the seventh, but could not advance to add an insurance run for the Saints (2-1).

Fryeburg 9, Yarmouth 5

FRYEBURG – Evan Humphrey hit an RBI triple in the first, and a triple in the third to lead Fryeburg to a 8-5 triumph over Yarmouth in baseball action Monday.

Pat Tweedie added a two-run triple in the first, while Justin Mead and Chris Roscoe each added an RBI double in the fifth for the Raiders (2-4).

Chan Harndt had a two-run single for Yarmouth (2-4) in the second.

Lisbon 16, Geo. Valley 5

THOMASTON – Mike Wilkins and Levi Ervin each had three RBIs as Lisbon pounded out 15 hits in a 16-5 victory over Georges Valley.

Dan Willis hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning for the Greyhounds (4-2), and Ervin added a three-run shot in the fifth. Max Hathaway had three hits for Lisbon.

Andrew Dubois picked up his first win of the season on the mound with three innings of work.

Elijiah Sprague pitched four innings in a losing effort for the Buccaneers (0-4).

Med. Valley 2, Oak Hill 0

WALDOBORO – Jared Simmons chased a high pitch out of the strike zone and connected on 290-foot, line-drive home run to plate the only runs of the game in Medomak Valley’s 2-0 victory over Oak Hill.

The shot came with two outs and winning pitcher Tom Kennedy aboard after a single. Kennedy allowed four hits and rang up seven batters on the mound for his second win of the season for the Panthers.

Mike Eaton pitched a complete game for the Raiders (2-3), dropping to 0-3 on the season.

Liv. Falls 13, Telstar 12

LIVERMORE FALLS – Mike Durrell went 5-for-5 and led off the bottom of the eighth with a walk-off home run as Livermore Falls rallied to defeat Telstar 13-12 in an MVC baseball matchup on Monday.

The Andies scored eight runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings. Zach Keene hit a two-run single with two outs to tie the game. Josh Tainter also went deep for Livermore Falls (1-3).

Mike Conrad hit a three-run homer in the top of the seventh, while Jason Cross had three hits for Telstar (1-4).

Greely 9, Poland 1

CUMBERLAND – Paul Valente smashed a three-run homer in the third inning as Greely defeated Poland 9-1 in WMC baseball action Monday afternoon.

Jake Richardson got the win on the mound for the Rangers (6-0), striking out eight batters. Robb Ryan contributed a two-run double in the second, while Matt Reade and Steve Morse each hit RBI doubles.

The Knights (3-1) were led by Joe Douglass with a double.

Rockland 6, Maranacook 5

READFIELD – Dom Moreau scored the winning run on a passed ball in the ninth inning to lift Rockland to a 6-5 win over Maranacook.

Dave Benner smacked a two-run homer, while Ben Starks added a double for the Tigers’ (4-2).

Maranacook (4-2) scored four runs in the sixth and seventh innings to come from behind to push the game into extra innings.

Jay 14, Boothbay 1

BOOTHBAY – Steve Nelson had a solid performance both on and off the mound, striking out eight batters and smacking a three-run homer in the fifth, as Jay routed Boothbay 14-1.

Zane Armandi also hit a three-run homer in the seventh and had a double. Rocky Desanctis had three hits, including a double for the Tigers (6-0).

St. Dom’s 15, Wells 1

WELLS – Tavian MacKinnon netted six goals and dished out a pair of assists as St. Dom’s ran away from Wells 15-1 in boys’ lacrosse action. Ben Adams notched a hat trick to go with three assists, and Andrew Gilbert had two goals and two assists as the Saints (2-0) employed a strong passing and shooting game to build up a wide margin. St. Dom’s outshot the Warriors 36-14 in the game.

Brian Kasabian stopped 11 shots in net for the Saints.

Wells drops to 0-3 with the loss.
