LISBON – A 26-year-old Mechanic Falls man was injured early Thursday evening when the borrowed motorcycle he was riding collided with a minivan.

According to the investigating officer, Sgt. Scott Stewart, Nathan Theberge was riding the two-wheeler east on Route 196 toward Lisbon when he collided with a Ford Windstar driven by William Reilly, 30, of Auburn, who was exiting Dingley Press.

Theberge slammed into the driver’s side of the van, suffering facial injuries, broken teeth, a broken wrist and lacerations to his head, Stewart said. He was not wearing a helmet, Stewart added.

Reilly was shaken by the crash, but not physically injured, the sergeant said.

He added that Reilly faces a charge of failing to yield to oncoming traffic.

The 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, owned by Joshua Bell of Mechanic Falls was demolished in the 6 p.m. mishap.

Damage to Reilly’s 2004 minivan was estimated at $5,000.
