PORTLAND – Stephanie L. Rowe, 91, of Narragansett Street, Gorham, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 3, at Maine Medical Center.
She was born on Jan. 19, 1915, in Rumford, the daughter of Adam and Jenny Lozis. During World War II, she worked for Todd-Bath Ironworks as a timekeeper, and it was there she met her future husband. She married Mervin A. Rowe on June 21, 1947.
She was a homemaker all of her married life, and she belonged to the Buxton Garden Club. She particularly enjoyed her lilacs and her flower gardens, and she will be remembered by her friends and family for her kind and generous spirit.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Mervin; her sisters, Anne Nichols of Otis, Ore., Sophie Michaud of Auburn and Mary Hughes of Lewiston; and a niece, Debra and her husband, Michael Pomerleau, and their two daughters, Stephanie and Hannah of Buxton.
