POLAND SPRING – The wedding of Sarah Catherine Clark and William Matthew Paradis was held on Oct. 22 at the Poland Spring Chapel. The Rev. Frank Morin of Calais and a long-time family friend, officiated at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony.

Mrs. Paradis is the daughter of Rick and Anita Clark of Newry. Mr. Paradis is the son of Joyce Paradis of Auburn and the late Bertrand Paradis.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless ivory lace gown with three-foot train and double-tiered veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses and mauve hydrangea with matching flowers in her hair. All wedding florals were handcrafted by aunt of the bride, Debbie St. Clair. Following the ceremony, the bride and her attendants wore knitted shawls made by the mother of the bride.

Stacy Morris-White served as maid of honor for her best friend, and bridesmaids, also friends of the bride, were Megan Schaiberger, Julee Gibson, Jessica Starr and Jess Whitten. Flower girls were Anna Baker, cousin of the bride, and Caitlin Murch, niece of the bridegroom.

Michael Paradis, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man, and serving as ushers were Jason McClure and Luke Sheldon, friends of the bridegroom, and Greg and Jeff Marcotte, his cousins.

A lobster dinner was served at the Poland Spring Clubhouse the evening before the wedding, to all those in the wedding party, as well as family and friends and guests from out of town. The bridegroom hosted a golf tournament prior to the evening dinner.

Following the chapel ceremony on Saturday, the wedding couple took a lively ride around the grounds in a golf cart before entering the Poland Spring Inn for the wedding reception, to the cheers of their many guests.

Following a week-long trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the newlyweds moved into their new home in Portland.

The bride is a graduate of Yarmouth High School and is employed at the Casco Bay YMCA and L.L. Bean in Freeport.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Lewiston High School and the University of Maine at Farmington and is employed as sales manager for Douty Brothers Inc., a seafood distributor in Portland.
