PORTLAND (AP) – Luis Jimenez and David Bacani drove in two runs apiece as the Portland Sea Dogs extended their winning streak to five by beating the Trenton Thunder 5-4 Monday in the Eastern League.

Kevin Howard and Vince Faison homered in Trenton’s fourth straight loss.

With the score tied at 1-1, Jimenez’s sacrifice fly and Jeremy West’s RBI single sent the Sea Dogs (19-11) ahead 3-1 in the third and Bacani’s bases-loaded double made it 5-1 in the fourth.

The Thunder (10-12) scored solo runs in the second, fifth, sixth and seventh innings. The homers by Howard and Faison were the key hits and Trenton capitalized on a costly Portland fielding error.

Portland starter Dezern Hansack (1-1) picked up the win, while Barry Hertzler notched his forth save. Trenton starter Steven White (1-1) took the loss.
