BRIDGTON – Lake Region Community Theatre will present “Blithe Spirit” by Sir Noel Coward, in July. Auditions for the British comedy will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 22, and Tuesday, May 23, at Bridgton Memorial School on Depot Street.
Auditions are open to anyone 18 and older. Casting calls are for the following:
• Charles, aged mid-40s. He is a writer doing research for a book on ghosts.
• His second wife, Ruth, is a very sensible, no-nonsense lady.
• Elvira, Charles’ second wife, is a drop-dead gorgeous, glamorous gal from the “other side.”
• Madame Arcati is an eccentric medium whose only transport is a bicycle. She conducts seances at your home by invitation only.
• Others in the cast include the local country doctor and his charming wife, Dr. and Mrs. Bradman, and Edith, who is a typical English maid, except she isn’t.
“Blithe Spirit” will be performed July 27, 28 and 29 at Bridgton Academy. It will be directed by Joanne Morse and produced by Tim Lorrain. For more information, call 583-6957, or check out lrctme.org
