LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Police Department, in conjunction with Lisbon School Department, presented it’s first “Protecting You and Your Children Internet Safety Program” recently at Lisbon High School.

The program was created by Lisbon PD and Lisbon School Department and the resources of the Netsmartz Program produced by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

The program was attended by members of the community and participants heard from Det. Bernie McAllister and School Resource Officer Renee Bernard about some of the issues facing adults and children when it comes to using the Internet.

James Churchill, technology systems director for the Lisbon School Department, spoke with participants about some of the safety devises and ways to protect themselves and their children while on-line.

The free two-hour presentation was held in cooperation with Lisbon Adult Education. Another program is planned for the fall. Anyone wanting more information on the program should contact Bernard at 353-3030 or McAllister at 353-2500.
