LISBON – Alma Lea’s Dance Competition Teams of Lisbon headed to the Dancer’s Inc. competition in South Portland recently, returning with awards.

And, for the first time in Alma Lea’s Dance Studio history, the adult team went along and competed with a tap performance.

Awards were presented as follows: Senior Team, awarded gold medals across the board for ballet, tap and jazz performances. Two members, Jami Racine and Andrew Lunn, performed a lyrical duo to “The Storm” and earned a gold medal. Alyssa Cote performed a lyrical solo to “Colorblind” and also received gold.

The Intermediate Team brought home a high silver medal in ballet performance, a silver medal in jazz and a gold medal for tap. They also placed second overall for their tap routine.

The Junior Team brought home a high silver in ballet and tap and a silver medal in jazz. The Adult Team, age 20 and over, received a gold medal for its tap performance to “More,” a special judges’ award, and second place overall in their category.

The studio is located at 28 Moody Road. It will celebrate its 15th year this year with a recital titled “Pure Imagination.” For more information, call 353-2274.
