PARIS – Silver Moore-Leamon will be the worship leader at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, on Sunday, May 21. Her sermon topic at the 10 a.m. service will be “The Psalms.” The music will be by the choir and Forest Perkins, church organist. Renee Wales will lead the Sunday school. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.

Scrapbooking

SUMNER – The Sumner Fire Department Auxiliary is working to reach a goal to build a helicopter pad in its town. They have a goal of approximately $20,000 to raise and will sponsor some fundraisers.

An all-day scrapbooking event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at the East Sumner Congregational Church. There will be a Creative Memories consultant, gifts will be drawn hourly for attendance, and a 50/50 raffle will be held. To register, call Lorraine at 388-2402.

On Saturday, June 3, a huge lawn sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fire station, Route 219. There will also be a food sale featuring homebaked goods, hot dogs, chips and soda. Plants and grab bags will also be available. Donations are being accepted for the sale. Call Lana at 388-2904, Diana at 388-2628 or Wilda at 388-2981.

Society meeting

OXFORD – The Oxford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, May 29, at the Kay House, King Street. A presentation will be given by members of the local Boy Scout troop on the proper handling of the American flag and a tribute to Memorial Day.
