FARMINGTON – Attorney Tom Dean of Farmington has been appointed general counsel at Franklin Community Health Network, according to Richard Batt, president.

Dean will be responsible for handling routine legal work such as contract negotiation, human resource legal issues, real estate transactions, and will coordinate situations requiring specialized consultation, such as State and Federal regulations and malpractice cases.

Before joining FCHN, Dean was in private practice in Farmington associated with the firm of Joyce, David & Hanstein for four years.

Dean received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in Charlottesville, Va., in 1994. Before that he graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at St. John’s Seminary College in Boston.

He is a directors of the Pierce House in Farmington and clerk and past president of the Franklin County Bar and Library Association.

Dean and his wife Sara (Condit) grew up in this area. Dean attended school in Wilton, and both he and Sarah graduated from Mt. Blue High School. They are the parents of two young children, Joseph, 7, and Celia, 5.
