PORTLAND (AP) – Ismael Ramirez pitched seven effective innings and Maikel Jova knocked a two-run double as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats snapped their four-game losing streak by beating the Portland Sea Dogs 4-1 Saturday.

Dusty Brown homered in Portland’s loss.

RBI singles by Adam Lind and Curtis Thigpen were the key hits as Fisher Cats (15-24) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third inning.

The Sea Dogs (20-18) scored their lone run when Brown belted Ramirez’s 1-2 offering over the left-field wall.

Jova’s bases-loaded line drive through the right-field gap made it 4-1 in the eighth.

Ramirez gave up two hits, struck out two and walked four as he improved to 3-3, while Rodney Ormond pitched two perfect innings to notch his second save.

The loss dropped Portland starter Phil Seibel to 0-3.
